Are online psychological interventions effective?
A systematic review of 42 studies conducted by Backhuas et al., (2012) found that psychological interventions administered via videoconferencing had similar treatment outcomes to psychological interventions administered face-to-face. Furthermore, Nelson and Patton, (2016) found videoconferencing psychotherapy to be an effective approach to providing children and teenagers with access to psychological interventions. This indicates that for some individuals online psychological intervention can be effective and may allow them to access psychological support they may not have otherwise been able to receive.
What can I expect from my first psychologist session?
Your first session is centered around your psychologist getting to know you and what has brought you to our service and why now? We will also ask you about what makes you, you, your history, including medical and psychological, and the people in your life that are important. This information allows you and your psychologist to collaboratively design a treatment plan tailored to you and your goals.
How can I book an appointment?
There are 2 ways you can book an appointment.
You can book an appointment time and date online by clicking here via our Halaxy online booking system . Please note, we only have a limited number of new client spots open for online booking to leave room for our existing clients to rebook. If you are a new client and want to book an initial appointment but there is not a suitable time slot available, please call us on 0457 427 876.

Payment Method
Fees are payable at the start or prior to the session. Payment can be made securely through our patient management software, Halaxy, by EFTPOS, BPAY, secure payment link when emailed your invoice, or via your patient portal.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require at least 48 hours’ notice. If you cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee, if it is within 24 hours of your appointment or you fail to attend your appointment you will be charged 100% of the cost of your appointment. Please note appointments are required to be cancelled via phone.
Please note Medicare, and private health insurers do not reimburse for appointments not attended.
We understand that at times cancellations are unavoidable due to circumstances outside of clients control. In these circumstances, we will try to reschedule your appointment. However, it is at the discretion of Graciously You Psychological Services whether a cancellation fee will be required. If a client cancels several consecutive appointments, it is at our discretion to require a non-refundable deposit for future appointments.
Repeat Cancellations
Any client who fails to attended three confirmed, scheduled appointments in a row will automatically have their next appointment slot relocated to another client on the wait list and will not be able to recommence appointments at Graciously You Psychological Services until they have paid a non-refundable deposit of 50% of their next appointment. If a client fails to attend subsequent appointments or cancels, they will forfeit this deposit.
If a pattern of late cancellations and/or non-attendance is identified, clients may have their future appointments slot reallocated to another client on the wait list.
Late Attendance
Sessions are kept to their allocated time (e.g. 50 mins). If you are late to your appointment, your appointment time will not be extended. If you are later than 15 minutes your appointment will be cancelled. Full standard fees are still required to be paid in the circumstances.
Conditions of Cancellation Policy
If you are required to pay a cancellation fee, this fee must be paid in full prior to the attendance of any future appointments. These cancellation fees are applicable to any client of Graciously You Psychological Services. All cancellation fees are required to be paid personally by the client and not a third party organisation as these organisations to not normally cover such fees for non-attendance.
