Telehealth Psychology Service for Australian Women

About Our Psychologist

Our psychologist Natasha is proud to be increasing access to psychological services through telehealth during Australia’s current mental health crises.
Please keep reading to learn more about telehealth.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is the delivery of health care services remotely through digital communication channels. For our psychology practice we provide psychological intervention using video calling via the platform Zoom or phone.

Telehealth has become a wonderful way to increase access to psychologists in remote areas, areas where there are limited psychologists or areas where the wait lists to see a psychologist are several months.

What are the benefits of telehealth?

Telehealth Psychologist Natasha Kiemel

There are several benefits to seeing a psychologist via telehealth. These include:

  • You find it hard to schedule appointments around other commitments such as work and child caring

  • You are located in rural and/or remote areas of Australia

  • You frequently travel due to work or other commitments

  • You have physical limitations or issues with transportation

  • You need a convenient way to access psychological support without the concern of seeing someone they know in the waiting room

  • There are no psychologists available near you

  • You haven’t been able to find a psychologist in your area you connect with

  • You haven’t been able to find a psychologist in your area trained in the therapy type you would like to try

Please note, online psychological therapy may not be suitable for all individuals. If you have any questions regarding the suitability of our service for you, please contact our friendly administrative team via, phone, or email.

Is online psychological therapy effective?

Yes, research indicates there are no significant differences between therapy that is delivered via telehealth or in-person. Research has shown telehealth is effective for treating a wide range of conditions including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and Tourette Syndrome. Further, the research indicates it is just as effective as face-to-face therapy in treating these conditions.

It is important to note, personal preference will play a role in how effective each intervention may be for you. This is dependent on your personal circumstances and also how comfortable you feel in each environment. For example, a person who struggles to use technology and finds any technological issues overwhelming may respond better to face-to-face intervention. While, a person who is struggling with anxiety and does not want to see people they know or other people in general in the waiting room may prefer telehealth.

Overall, there are a wide range of benefits to telehealth therapy and it has now been established as an effective tool in treating mental health concerns. Telehealth has also been shown to play a crucial role in increasing access to psychological intervention for those who otherwise would not be able to access the support they need.

If you have any questions about whether telehealth is a good fit for you, please talk to your personal health care provider or contact our friendly admin team via, phone, or email.
